Director of Facilities and Operations

Mr. Debity serves as the Director of Facilities and Operations for the Walker County School System. The Facilities and Operations Department oversees a wide range of essential services, including Food Service, Building Maintenance, New Construction, Energy Management, and Transportation. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Debity also serves as the system’s Athletic Director.

Walker County Schools takes great pride in its modern and well-maintained facilities. Over the past fifteen years, the district has continued an active cycle of building, renovation, and improvement to ensure our campuses remain safe, efficient, and welcoming for students and staff. Thanks to a dedicated team, our schools provide comfortable learning environments where students can grow, achieve, and succeed.

Facilities and Operations Assistant

Mrs. Michelle Queen and Miranda Doss are the assistant to the Director of Facilities and Operations. Their duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Coordinates and performs a range of staff and/or operational support activities for the department.
Serves as a liaison with other departments and schools in the resolution of day-to-day operational problems.
Provides administrative / secretarial support for the department such as answering phones, assisting visitors and resolving and/or referring a range of administrative problems or inquiries.
Responsible for the department’s accounting procedures which include payroll, accounts payable and budget.
