1. Students should be reading for 30 minutes each night for homework. Students will have to complete 3 assessments over their reading. The deadline for the 3rd 9 weeks is Thursday, March 13. Students must either write a 1 page detailed summary over the book, take an A.R. test on the book and score at least a 70%, or create their own 10 question test with answers on the book.
2. Last week, I sent home letters to my parents showing your child's benchmark scores and explanation of these tests and scores. If you did not receive the letter, contact me via e-mail and I can make another copy of the letter.
3. Students should bring a book or something else school-appropriate to read during SSR in the mornings.
4. 2/19/08: Tuesday: Students will finish novel #1 by our Author study S.E.Hinton. Students will write a 1 page summary over the novel. D.O.L./Journal, CRCT Coach Reading practice in class.
5. 2/20/08: Wednesday: Students will begin novel #2 by S.E. Hinton in their Literature groups. Students will be assigned new roles. D.O.L./Journal, CRCT Coach Reading practice in class.
6. 2/21/08: Thursday: Students will take turns reading aloud in their Literature groups their #2 novel. Students will complete their role assignments. D.O.L./Journal, CRCT Coach Reading practice in class.
7. 2/22/08: Friday: Students will take turns sharing their role assignments with their group. Students will receive their weekly grade report. D.O.L./Journal, CRCT Coach Reading practice in class.
