Language Arts: Each Day
1. D.O.L.: Daily Oral Language- work on grammar skills.
2. Journal: topics that generate tone, mood, real-life experiences & creativity.
3. Vocabulary: CRCT Terminology
4. Literature Circle: Take turns reading aloud in a group of seven, novels by S.E.Hinton(copies stay in the classroom). "The Outsiders", "Tex", "That Was Then, This Is Now".
5. Literature Role Assignments: Roles change each Monday. The assignments are due each Friday.
6. Daily grades each day for "Read Aloud" participation in Literature circle.
7. Daily grades for completion of Literary Element handouts. We work and go over these in class. This week we are working on tone and mood.
HOMEWORK: Read for 30 minutes each night.
FYI: I am allowing students to turn in their Author's Fair entry by Friday 1-25-08. By just submitting a piece, students will receive a 100 as a Quiz grade.
