CONGRATS TO EVERYONE FOR SURVIVING CRCT!!! You all made an excellent effort!

We are starting our very own science experiments. Each student will choose a topic and work on this for the next several weeks in order to understand and complete the entire scientific method. We are working on these in class, so there will be little to no homework time needed to complete them. Some of these could be exhibited at Science Night in May for everyone to see!!!

After surviving CRCT, we are working on building rides from an amusement park using K*Nex. Currently, we are working on the roller coaster, and we'll soon begin the ferris wheel and swings. We are studying several aspects of Physical Science throughout this project including acceleration, simple machines (gears, inclines), and the motion of objects. We will display these at Science Night for everyone to see!!!

Light & Sound is the theme for the next several weeks as we begin this new semester. We will discuss how light and sound are made, travel, and other interesting facts. Along with this unit, we will do several experiments/activities in the lab.

That's right...we are talking PLANTS to start this new semester off! This will be a very detailed unit, but I think everyone will enjoy it. We will make seed mosaics, plant collages, and other neat items.

Each student will have the opportunity to complete a packet of work this coming weekend, due Monday December 17th, in order to increase their grade if they choose. This is on a voluntary basis only. I am not requiring the work to be done unless your child is concerned about their grade and would like to work to make it better. This is something you might want to discuss with them before this Friday when the work will be handed out. The work will be over topics covered this past semester.
