3/8 Monday- Today we will finish going over the Q3 study guide. Students will take the Ecology Post Test. Vocabulary for Chapter 8 is due by the end of class.The ecosystems worksheet is due on Tuesday.Benchmark is tomorrow. 
 
3/9 Tuesday- Today is the Q3 Benchmark Test. Students must turn in the Ecosystem worksheet before they leave. Students will work on a Chapter 8 Vocabulary Crossword Puzzle. The Crossword is due by Thursday. 
 
 
3/10 Wednesday- We will go over the benchmark test. We will begin our discussion on The Plant Kingdom. Students will take notes on Chapter 8 Section 1. 
 
3/11 Thursday- The Chapter 8 Crossword Puzzle is due today. We will review section 1. We will discuss and take notes on Plants Without Seeds.

Biome Flipbook Project 
Standard: S7L4 e: describe the characteristics of the Earth’s major terrestrial biomes and aquatic communities 
 
You will research each of the nine biomes. I will provide you with pages from our textbook that will be helpful, and books from our library that you may use in the room during your class. Also, you may do research on your own at the public library or the Internet. Below is a list of the biomes and the pages in your textbook where you can find some of your information. 
 
Biomes: 
Temperate Rain Forest p. 729 
Tropical Rain Forest p. 730 
Desert p. 731 
Grasslands p. 732 
Deciduous Forest p. 733 
Boreal Forest/ Taiga p. 734 
Tundra p. 735  
Freshwater p. 737 
Saltwater/Marine p. 738-739 
You will need to find the following information: 
1.Locate and tell the area(s) where you could find the biome. 
2.Tell about the climate: (temperature range, type of precipitation and the average precipitation per year, and the seasons.) 
3.Describe the soil content and fertility 
4.Name at least 5 animals that are found in that biome 
5.Name at least 5 plants that are found in that biome. 
6.List two additional facts about the biome.  
7.Draw a picture of your biome. The picture must represent the biome. 
For the water biomes you will replace the climate and soil with the following: 
Freshwater biome you will list 2 characteristics of each of the following: rivers, streams, lakes, ponds and wetlands. 
Saltwater biome you will find 2 characteristics of each of the following: estuaries, seashores, deep ocean, open ocean and coral reefs.

It is important that students keep up with materials given out in class and put them in the proper place in their notebook. Remember this counts three times just like a test grade. Everyone should have a 100 as long as they keep up with the materials and put them in the right section and in order in their notebook. I will update the list as papers are given back in class.
