-No textbook, pencil or paper is needed. Everything will be done on the computer.
-You will need your agenda for hall passes and renaissance stamps.
-The main requirement is that you come to class on time, with a cooperative attitude, ready to learn.
-The other requirement is to complete projects as you are instructed, and participate in class discussions and activities. If you do not finish a project in class, you should have time in the next class or two to return and finish.
-This class is a "project-driven" class. Every project is worth 10 points. Your grade is simply determined by the amount of points you earn on each project. 10 points = completed all requirements with 1 or less errors. 9 points = 2 - 3 errors. 8 points = 4 - 5 errors. 7 points = you tried, but didn't get anything correct. 6 points = only your name was on the project and it was saved in the right place. 5 points = you were here, but no project is found.
-We will follow the student handbook concerning make-up work. See the teacher about any need to make up back work from absences.
6th grade will emphasize keyboarding, with some word processing and internet use, and introduction of PowerPoint.
7th grade will emphasize word processing, internet use/searching, and other applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Pages, Keynote, Garage Band.
8th grade will expound on all of the above and add photo, movie, and music applications.
-Be On Time
-Be prepared with a good attitude and your agenda
-Be respectful to yourself, others, and property (especially the computer equipment).
-Be familiar with all the class guidelines that are thoroughly discussed the first day of class and posted in the computer lab.
I'm looking forward to a great semester learning about computers and how you can use them to enhance your life!
