Parents, We only have 23 days remaining to prepare for the CRCT. Please remember that we will be offering after-school tutoring during the month of March for all grades 6-8. If you are interested in your child attending please contact the school office.

Recently the BETA Club conducted the fundraiser, Pennies for Patients.
As a school we raised $774. 66 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thank you for all your help and support.

Congratulations to the boys’ basketball team as they won the NGAC league and the NGAC tournament. They defeated Ringgold in the Championship final with a great shot by “Big” Trea Covington. They finished with a school record 16 wins and only 1 loss for the season! GREAT JOB!

Cell phones are becoming an increasing problem at LMS. We have been fairly lenient with this issue this year, but from this point on, student use of a cell phone during the school day will result in ISS. We have the CRCT in 23 days, and if a student’s cell phone is in use during the test it results in the student’s test not being scorable, thus resulting in a “Did Not Meet”. Please help us in reminding your child to not bring their phone to school.

LMS math classes are joining a worldwide celebration of numbers as children across the globe unite in a quest to set a world record in answering mental math questions. LMS students will join more than a quarter of a million other students as they work to see how many mental math questions they can answer in the given time period.

Many students have already registered and are practicing at school and at home. The website is www.worldmathday.com if you want to register your child. In 2007, more than 287,000 students answered 38,904,275 questions. The goal in 2008 is to break 50 million questions.

Thank you,
Mike Culberson
