As many of you know, our curriculum standards (Georgia Performance Standards) have and will be changing in each subject area. If you would like to check out the new standards, you can view them at http://www.georgiastandards.org. Our teachers are currently examining their teaching strategies to make sure that Gilbert brings the best teaching practices to our students. You will hear things like Workshop formats (Writer's, Reader's, and Math workshop) as we work together to do what is best for students. At this time Language Arts, Math (K-2), and Science (3-5) have been rolled out. I am so proud of my faculty and staff for their collaborative effort in improving Gilbert Elementary in the name of student learning.

We can talk or dream about the glorious schools of the future or we can create them.
