Bring in all materials to complete your board game on Thursday, April 17. You will have one period to finish your game and one period to play each others games in order to review for the social studies CRCT on Friday. Make sure that you've included all of the following requirements:
1. 20 trivia cards that are out of the coach book and relevant to our units on Europe, Latin America, Canada, Oceania, Australia.
2. A colorful game board with at least 3 graphics.
3. Game pieces.
4. Rules/Instructions on how to play your original game.

Be creative with your design. I really like the game "Cranium" because it has the participant drawing, sculpting, acting, singing, and doing a variety of things to answer questions to gain points. Learning can be a lot of fun, so make a game that everyone will enjoy playing and that will reinforce the social studies standards.

Students will continue to investigate the culture, history, economics, politics, and geography of Australia and the islands of Oceania. We will also being revisiting our study of Europe, Latin America, and Canada in order to prepare for the CRCT. Some social studies tips for test preparation include reviewing any maps, graphic organizers, or notes from previous units. We will also continue to work in the coach book and use practice questions to gain a comfort level with the test. Students will need to get lets of rest and eating a good breakfast will help with alertness. I will tolerate gum chewing during testing in order to promote the ability to focus. Just relax and do your best!
