We reviewed the properties of numbers. They are 
 
Commutative Property - This property allows you to change order in addition or multiplication without changing the answer. Example 
3(4) = 4(3) or  
 
3 + 4 = 4 + 3 
 
Associative Property - This property allows you to change the grouping using parenthesis in addition or multiplication without changing the answer. Example 
1 + (2 + 3) = (1 + 2) + 3 or  
 
2(3x4) = (2x3)4 
 
Distributive Property - This property allows you to distribute (hand out) mult or division over addition or subtraction. Example 
3(4 +6) = 3(4) + 3(6) or  
 
3(4 - 6) = 3(4) - 3(6) or  
 
(8 + 6)/2 = 8/2 + 6/2 or  
 
(8 - 6)/2 = 8/2 - 6/2
