Title: 25 Book Campaign
Posted by:
Previous: Classwork & Homework 05/05-05/09
Next: Welcome Back!

The new Georgia Performance Standards require students to read 25 grade level appropriate books each school year. Five of the 25 books will be read during class, which leaves 20 for your child to read independently.
Your child must read a minimum of twenty chapter books for language arts class this year. Five books must be read each nine-weeks to receive an assignment grade of 100. Each book is worth 20 points of the assignment grade. This assignment grade counts 25% of the final grade.
After a book is read, the student needs to get a Book Report Form and fill it out completely to verify the book was read. If the book has an Accelerated Reader (AR) test, the student should take the test. It can be taken on the computer in any of our classrooms or in the library. After completing both of these tasks, the student will receive a sticker to put beside his/her name on the chart in the classroom.

All books should be read by Wednesday, May 16.
