Friday, January 11th is Report Card Day. Please Check the folders for the Report Cards and new book.  
 
Next week sight word lists will be sent for each child. Please cut the words apart, glue on index cards, and make a matching game to play with your child. Each parent will receive two copies of each word. Thank you for returning your Conference Notes. I look forward to meeting with each of you.

Hope everyone has had a great Holiday. We would like to welcome our new student, Hannah. Hannah has moved here from Tennessee. 
 
Our theme will be Winter even though it looks like and feels like Spring weather. 
 
During this week we will be completing our skill testing and we will be ready to learn many new things. In Math Workshop we will begin to learn about subtraction. This is an exciting skill that the children always enjoy. 
 
I will be sending conference notes this week. It is very important that I meet with each parent. I will be discussing the 2nd. quarter report card and the things that your child needs to learn. Please continue to read with your child each night. The books coming home now are to be read by your child. A new sight word list will be coming soon, please continue to work on these words. Learning the sight word list will help your child be a better more confident reader.

Next Tuesday will be our special Thanksgiving Holiday Feast. We will be sharing this Feast with Mrs. Gilreath's class. I will be sending a list of items that we need for the feast. Please send whatever you can but we need the items by Monday. 
Anything extra that is sent will be saved for snacks. 
Please continue to read every night with your child. I will be sending a list of sight words to practice. Have a great day. Mrs. Thurman

Mrs. Magnusson and I would like to welcome you to our class. 
 
There are a few reminders to send your way.  
 
1. Lunch and Ice cream money needs to be in an envelope with your child's name. 
2. Folders need to be signed each day. If your child has changed a color I will send you a comment on the folder so that you will understand the behavior that needs to be changed. 
3. Many have brought their changes of clothes. If you have not sent a change please do so very soon. Accidents can happen any time. If there is a need to change clothes and there are none in their cubbie you will receive a call to bring some clothes. 
 
If you have any questions either send a note, email me or call me at school. My planning time is 9:30 to 10:15. 
 
Check this weblog often I will update you on many things.
