Multiply fractions-multiply straight across.
Multiply fractions and whole numbers-put the whole number over 1 and multiply straight across.
Multiply mixed numbers-change the mixed number to an improper fraction by multiplying the denominator (bottom number) and whole number then add the numerator (top number) then put it over the old denominator. Finally multiply straight across. Make sure you simplify your answer.
Divide fractions-Keep the first number, change the division sign to multiplication, and flip the second number. Then multiply straight across.
Divide whole numbers and fractions-put the whole number over 1, then Keep it, Change it, Flip it. Multiply.
Divide mixed numbers-change the mixed number to an improper fraction then keep it, change it, flip it, multiply.
Remember to simplify all answers.
