Greetings! Welcome to another school year at LMS! We are all extremely excited about this year and the group of students we have. Our test scores were incredible last year, higher than the Walker County average AND higher than the the state average in ALL subjects! And this year will be even better!!!!
MONDAY: Students will begin preparing a booklet about themselves as a way to ignite their interest in history. We will do most of the work in class, but if you have some old magazines that they may cut pictures out of, they may also work on this at home.
TUESDAY: Continue with the booklet, adding a list of things they have accomplished so far in their lives.
WEDNESDAY: We will finish the booklet today, after adding a list of their goals for the future. These will be displayed in the room during Open House on the 7th of August.
THURSDAY: Introduce the 9 themes we will study in Georgia History. These themes will have a direct tie-in with our standards and will be referred to all year.
FRIDAY: Finish the unit of 9 themes with a quiz.
Thursday night is Open House. Please take the opportunity to stop by the school and say hello. It is not formal, but a"drop-in" anytime between 6:00 and 7:30. Hope to see ALL of you there!
