Hey all,
I wanted to let you all know that I have placed some college materials in the library for you to see. Browse through when you have a few minutes. I'm sure if you have questions, Mrs. Mason would be happy to help. Of course I'm always available.
Happy browsing!

Greetings!
Progress reports have gone home, and you are either happy or not so happy. If you are pleased with your grades, I'm glad. If not, take a few minutes to reorganize yourself. Get your notebooks in order, turn in missing papers, and stay on top of assignments.
If you need help, let me know!!!!!
Be sure to check out the college board and look at Reinhardt College. Also take a look at www.gacollege411.org
Till next time,
Mrs. Moore

Hi All,
Did you see on the news where a train derailed in Chattanooga? Apparently the snow and sleet caused a big problem, and several cars jumped the track. Once they left the right path, disaster followed.
That can happen to us. We can be on the right track and a snow day, sickness, friends, family, and a million other things can get us off track. Then disaster follows: our grades drop, our attitude changes, and before we know it we forget where we are headed. Here are a few things to help you stay on track.
1. Know where you are going. High school; graduation; college , training, or work.
2. Focus on what's important. What do you need to do to get where you are going?
3. Keep positive people around you.
4. Seek help when you feel yourself slipping. Ask me, a teacher, or a counselor for help.
Try these things and see if you can get back on track!
Till later,
Mrs. Moore

The holidays are coming soon, and that usually means we get caught up in friends, family, and food. All good things, mind you, but it can take our focus off our jobs. Your job right now is to be the best student you can be. I've noticed grades beginning to slip. USE YOUR AGENDA TO KEEP UP WITH THINGS! I can't stress this enough. Sit down and make a schedule for yourself, or ask me for one. There are only 4 weeks left of this 9 weeks.
Check out my college board....Truett McConnell is our highlighted college.

Welcome back everyone!
I hope you enjoyed your days off. Mine was busy helping my husband with All-State Chorus auditions. Seeing those students reminded me of how great all of you are and how you will some day be older and closer to college. I know some of you are thinking that college is far off, but it will come sooner than you think. What is the best way to prepare for college? Be the best you can now!
Today starts a new 9 weeks and a fresh start. I've looked at grades, and many of you are doing just great. Keep it up!! If you didn't do your best, now is the time to start. Just saying "No to Zeros" will make a huge impact! Turning in all work and asking questions will no doubt raise your grade.
Check out the board next to my office. I'm highlighting Berry College which is about an hour down the road. Look to see what teachers went there; then ask them about Possum Trot. No, really, it's an actual place!!
If you need me, just holler!
Till later,
Mrs. Moore

Today is College Colors Day, and I am seeing a lot of you wearing your fave colors. You may see some besides the usual Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. Ask your teachers where they went to college. Ask whether they lived on or off campus. Ask them to tell you why they chose that particular college.
Speaking of college, keep an eye on the bulletin board outside my office. This week is ABAC. I'll be changing it weekly.
Now to something that worries me: your grades. Many of you have zeros for assignments. WHY? School is your job, and you have work to do. You can't choose work on the basis of liking it or not. THERE SHOULD BE NO ZEROS!!!!! Fix this quickly. You only have 2 weeks till the end of the 9 weeks. If you need help, see me.
Let's get back on track.
Till later,
Mrs. Moore

Hi All,
I've put up some info about our very own Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Just located a few miles down the road, GNTC offers many majors that take two years or less to complete. For those who like hands-on learning, this may be the place for you!
Also, COLLEGE COLORS DAY IS SEPT. 25.

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend. Now we are back in the groove again, so be sure to study, and do your best on everything.
Outside my office is some info about LaGrange College. I will update this board from time to time so you can get an idea about different colleges in Georgia. Now is the time to start thinking about your future. Dropping out is not an option. To enjoy a better life, you will need a high school diploma and probably more. That is just the world we live in.
If you have any questions just ask.
Till later,
Mrs. Moore

Hi Gang,
We are 15 days into the school year. Are you where you want to be? I've talked with 6th graders about study skills and with 7th about career choices. What you do here (study, work, experiment, think...) will last a lifetime.
Some of you will receive deficiencies soon. Talk to your teachers about your grades. They are here to help you.
Please look at the bulletin board outside my door. I'm going to start putting college info there.
Till next time,
Mrs. Moore

Hello Eagles,
We have been in school a week and a half, and so many of you are off to a great beginning. I've seen many good grades and a sense of maturity. In today's world, it is so important to get off on the right foot. There is no room for those who simply sit by and wait for things to happen. Our society expects you to learn all you can so you can contribute to this great country of ours.
I have contacted many colleges in our state to send materials that I can share with you. Look for those in the coming weeks. Also, College Colors Day is Sept 4. Wear your favorite college colors.
Hope the rest of your week is great!!!
Till next time,
Mrs. Moore

Welcome Eagles!!!
Whether this is your first year with us, or you're an old pro, I'd like to welcome you to the new year. As graduation coach I want to make sure your time here is well spent and meaningful. Now is the the time to start thinking about college and careers. The best start you can give yourself is to be on top of your game.
"What game?" you may be thinking. Well, in sports, to be on top of your game is to know what you are doing and where you are headed. The same applies here. You can be on top simply by knowing what to do and doing it. Middle school is just the beginning.
Check out a few things this first week:
1. The bulletin board between ISS and the guidance offices.
2. The bulletin board by my office.
3. Listen for club info. Get involved.
Make plans to keep up your agenda and turn things in on time. Don't forget all those forms that need to be signed. They are important!
I hope your first day was wonderful. Look here often for news and updates.
Till next time,
Mrs. Moore
