Happy 100th Day!

The 100th day of school is quickly approaching (Jan. 23rd). I have many fun math activities planned to celebrate this special day! One such activity is making a 100 Days necklace. We will need Fruit Loops and dental floss. If you can provide either of these items, we would greatly appreciate the help! ☺

"Soup"er Bowl

Gilbert’s School Council is lending a helping hand to our area community. In honor of the Super Bowl, we are having a canned food drive to benefit area food banks. Please join us in reaching out to our community! Bring in cans or other non-perishables.

Important Reminders

• We have P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Be sure to wear tennis shoes on these days!

• We need BOX TOPS! Mr. Tipton challenged the school to bring in lots of Box Tops so that we can raise money for our playground and climbing wall. He promised a coney dog and chili-cheese fries party to the class that turns in the most points by January 31st.

• We will have ice cream on Friday. Please send $0.50.

Pennies for Patients

Students across the country are collecting pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters during the Pennies for Patients campaigns benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Students and faculty here at Gilbert are encouraged to do their part. Mr. Tipton has offered a pizza party as a reward for collecting the most money for the Society. Start collecting spare change. Look under the sofa cushion, in the car, or in the laundry room for coins. Bring in those pennies!
