Welcome Back!

I hope you and your family had an enjoyable weekend. We are in the home stretch of the first half of our school year. We have only 7 days left before the Christmas holidays! This will be our last week of homework and testing. We have special activities planned for the three-day week.

Monday, December 17 Holiday Rotation

Students will visit each first grade classroom to make a special holiday craft.

Tuesday, December 18 Polar Express

We invite you to wear your pajamas and bring a favorite stuffed animal as we enjoy a day of fun reading activities centered around Chris Van Allsburg’s Polar Express.

Wednesday, December 19

We invite you to join us for our first Author’s Tea and Christmas Party. We will begin around 9:30. Students will share their recently published work.

Our Christmas gift exchange is scheduled for Wednesday, December 19th. It is a tradition for first graders to exchange books. The total book value is not to exceed $5. Books should be wrapped together and labeled as follows:

To: A Special Friend
From: (Your Child’s Name)

Presents need to be brought to school no later than Wednesday, December 12. This will allow time for me to label them for our exchange and purchase any needed presents.

Important Reminders

• We have P.E. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. Be sure to wear tennis shoes on these days!

• Send in Box Tops and Campbell’s Soup labels. We would love to win the contest again!

• We will have ice cream on Friday. Please send $0.50.
