This week we will be starting Order of Operations. Tonight the students will have homework on pg. 51 problems 1 -15. If you do not know what the Order of Operations is I have an acronym to remember it by. PEMDAS.
1. First you have to answer the problems in the Parenthesis in order from left to right.
2. Answer the exponent problems in order from left to right.
3. Multiply and Divide in order from left to right. You can multiply and divide interchangeably, meaning dividing sometimes might come before before multiplication.
4. Add and Subtract in order from left to right. You can add and subtract interchangeably, meaning subtracting might come before addition.
We will be working on this and one step equations for the rest of the week.
