August 12 
We took a "sample" notes test during class; this was intended to give the students an indication of how well they're keeping up with their notebooks. These grades will NOT be factored in to their overall average, but I will post them on PowerSchool for parents to see. STUDENTS HAVE A HOMEWORK SHEET TONIGHT ON PROBABILITY. REMEMBER THAT ALL LATE WORK IS PENALIZED 20%. Students should also expect a quiz tomorrow. 
 
August 11 
Today we completed #6 in our notebook. We will take a sample notes test tomorrow. The students will get them back graded, but the grade will not count. It is intended to give them a chance to add anything they haven't been doing to their notebook before the real notes test. There WILL be a homework assignment tomorrow. 
 
 
August 8 
 
Some have asked about my Open House wish list. All I listed was tissues and sandwich baggies (all sizes). Thanks! 
 
In class: Today we worked more in probability, and completed #5 in our notebook. We also did a tree diagram exercise with a partner that was graded. I plan on having a "sample" notes test next week that will not count so that the students will get a preview of what those are like. Have a wonderful weekend! 
 
August 7 
Tonight is Open House. Please drop in between 6pm and 7:15pm. 
 
In class: Today we worked more on probability studies. We also had our first daily grade, which was a Brainpop quiz. Be sure you're keeping up with your notebook; right now you should have four entries. 
 
August 6 
Please remember to turn in paperwork by August 15 to qualify for the 10 bonus stamps.  
 
Don't forget: OPEN HOUSE THURSDAY AT 6pm

You should have a title, assignment number, and a date on all notebook entries. We will continue to study probability for a couple of weeks.
