We are beginning our geology unit this week. We will be focusing specifically on minerals for the next week or two. There should not be any homework this week unless I post it here.
Progress reports go home on Friday, August 29. These need to be signed and returned. I will send home a Science report that displays your student's scores on all assignments along with the current average.

Study for tests. We will be taking the Study Island test on Thursday and the hard copy test in the classroom on Friday.

No HW tonight...We will be having a test on Lab Safety and Scientific Method at the end of this week. Please encourage your student to begin studying for this test.

Today we discussed controls and variables. We are in the process of conducting an experiment to find out what happens when a gummy bear is placed in water. We will finish up our lab reports tomorrow once our gummies have soaked overnight in water. We are looking forward to finding out if our hypotheses are correct!
control = gummy left out of water
variable = the gummy left in water

We are finishing up with Lab Safety this week and moving on to the Scientific Method.
The "Million Words or Less" assignment that was given last Tuesday is due tomorrow. If parents sent this via email, then I replied to each email. If parents did not receive an email reply, then I did not receive it. Please try again!
