LITERACY WEEK EVENTS (AND MORE):  
 
GOAL: We have been challenged with a school-wide goal to read 2,500 books from the 25th-29th. If we achieve this goal, Mr. Parker will be dying his hair orange & blue! 
 
PRIZE: The class with the most books read will be presented with a classroom book purchased compliments of Mr. Parker! 
 
CANDY SALES: Candy bar sales have been extended through the upcoming week. All $$$ and/or candy is due FRIDAY, FEB. 29th!! 
 
25th-29th:  
Scholastic Book Fair in Literacy Lab ALL WEEK 
 
25th (Mon):  
"Muffins with Mom" 8am-9am in cafeteria 
Wear RED, WHITE, & BLACK for "Dr. Seuss" Day! 
 
26th (Tue):  
"Donuts with Dads" 8am-9am 
Tutoring 2:45-3:45pm; pick-up by 4pm, please 
"Literacy Night" 5:30-7:30pm 
 
28th (Thu):  
Grade-Level Planning Day; we will have a sub! 
Tutoring 2:45-3:45pm; pick-up by 4pm, please 
 
29th (Fri): 
"Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character" Day!

Due to after-school tutoring, there will be NO regular nightly homework. Students who attend tutoring may have tutoring practice homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I will try to keep it short. Thanks for your understanding and support! :-)

FEBRUARY 18TH - President's Day; NO SCHOOL! 
 
FEBRUARY 19TH - Tutoring starts at 2:45 p.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m. Students need to be picked up no later than 4:00 p.m. I will allow students to eat a small nutritious snack from 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. if they wish to bring one from home. Tutoring sessions take place after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays. 
 
FEBRUARY 25TH - 29TH - This will be our school-wide "Literacy Recognition Week". To celebrate, we will have a variety of events at school (such as a literacy night, dress as your favorite book character day, special mystery guest readers, and more). We will also have our 2nd BOOK FAIR this week!
