The Fifth Graders have been studying Greek mythology and Ancient Greek culture. They have seen pictures of Ancient Greek vases, and they have practiced drawing figures using simple shapes. Today and tomorrow they will create an original drawing using chalk on black paper in the style of the Red-figure Greek vases.  
They have already taken home a small mosaic that they have made using broken pieces of tile. Frank Baker of the Stone Source has generously donated tiles for the Fifth Graders to use when we make outdoor mosaic murals to go above our stage in the courtyard.
