In the 4th nine weeks the reading requirements in my class will be the same as previously. Below is a detailed explanation.
1. Each student needs to read 12 points this quarter.
2. There will be two AR assessment dates to keep students on track with their reading. Each assessment will be worth a test grade. The dates are as follows: April 12 and May 16. 6 points need to be read each assessment period.
3. There are three choices for how a student can gain credit for reading a book
• By taking an AR test and making at least a 70 on it.
• By writing a three-paragraph summary on the book.
• By making a ten question and answer test on the book.
4. A weekly homework grade will be given for the reading students do at home. Per week each student should read at least an hour. Students have been given a reading log where they can record their reading. There is also a space for the parent or guardian to sign. Please help your students be responsible about keeping up with their reading. These sheets are to be turned in each Tuesday. If for some reason the reading log has not been returned to the student before the next Tuesday it is still the student's responsibility to turn in a record of his reading.
