The Transportation Department of the Walker County School District is charged with transporting over 6,000 students, safely and efficiently, every day. These buses cover 85 routes daily, driving over 1.2 million miles each year. Because the school bus is an extension of the classroom, we are an integral part of the education of all students within our school district. Safety is high priority and a group effort. Students, parents, teachers, school administrators, and drivers are all assigned responsibility. We value each and every student and will emphasize that by treating each student with dignity and respect. We are committed to providing the safest, consistent, reliable transportation possible and will strive to continually upgrade our service to students and parents as it becomes possible. Each day, we experience extremely high call volume between the hours of 6:30 am – 8:15 am and between 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. During these hours, it is extremely difficult to get through to the Transportation Department. If you can’t get through, please keep trying!
