The Transportation Department for the Walker County School System administers ridership services for approximately 5,000 students. The daily operations include transportation services for regular and special education students. This state of the art facility accomodates employee training center, full service vehicle maintenance department, administrative offices and parking for 81 school buses. The Walker County Schools Transportation Department employees 81 bus drivers, 16 attendants, 4 bus technicians and 4 office staff. Our drivers are trained, tested, certified, attend safety meetings throughout the year and are updated on the laws and procedures. Our buses are traveling over 6,000 miles each day and over 1.1 million miles annually. 

Student Transportation is not an auxiliary service but A FRONT - LINE SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR THE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM.
