Department of New Construction

The Department of New Construction ensures that quality, cost effective facilities, built correctly to Walker County Schools standards, are provided in a timely fashion to students and educators. This department supervises all system projects that are being constructed by outside contractors. Construction Supervisor Lamar Sharp, is at each new construction site to make sure this happens.

New Construction Projects

New Rossville Middle School

The New Rossville Middle School construction was completed this summer so that student and staff members could start the 2008-2009 school year in a brand new school.

 

Rock Spring Elementary

Construction began this summer for the 17 classroom addition for Rock Spring Elementary. Four of the classrooms were completed and opened for the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year.

 

Naomi Elementary

Construction crews are on site at Naomi Elementary for the 11 classroom addition. Mobile units were moved out so that preperations can be made for the new addition.

 

 

Ridgeland High School

Major renovation and a 10 classroom addition is underway at Ridgeland High School. Construction has already started in full force.

 

Chattanoga Valley Middle School

LaFayette Middle School

New Planetarium

Groundbreaking has begun at the Science and Technology Center for a new
Planetarium facility! From 1967-1998, tens of thousands of students participated
in programs at the former Walker County School Planetarium that was located in
Rock Spring, Georgia.
