New K – 8 / Saddle Ridge
From the Superintendent:
What an exciting time for Walker County Schools as we get closer to the opening of a new school. The building and site are taking shape and work has now shifted to the inside. We have named our Principal, Ms. Wendy Ingram and our Assistant Principal, Ms. Sherry Smyth. The next step will be the staffing decisions utilizing professionals from within our school system. The Board of Education will be considering proposed zoning changes and the community will have an opportunity to give input before decisions are finalized.
We remain on schedule and are confident that the summer months will involve lots of activities including community building activities, fundraising, furniture moves and teachers preparing their classrooms for the arrival of their students. I will continue to update this section of our system website in an effort to keep everyone informed of progress, coming events and calendar items of interest.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together toward the goal of ensuring all students graduate; Ready for College, Ready for Work, Ready for Life.
