My name is Lorie Lowery. I have two children of my own who have loved being part of Cherokee Ridge.  My hobbies include reading, hiking, and horseback riding.  My long-term goal is to write books for children.  I currently teach second grade at Cherokee Ridge Elementary, and am proud to be a part of such an excellent school!  I love my students and am dedicated to helping them be successful academically.  I also know that learning should be fun, and try to incorporate the enjoyment of learning in my class.  In addition, I know the importance of working in partnership with parents to ensure that students excel.  My desire is that students become life long learners.

Here's to the kids who are different, the kids with the mischievous streak. For when they have grown, as history has shown, it's their difference that makes them unique.

This is my 10th year of teaching. This will be my 7th year of teaching second grade at Cherokee Ridge Elementary. My mission as a teacher is to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment where students are motivated to succeed both academically and emotionally. I strongly believe that education is a process in which one learns by doing and that experience is the best teacher. Learning occurs when one is actively involved in the learning process.
I have two active dogs, Bedos and Bajan, which keep me very busy. I enjoy reading, traveling, and being out on the water. I love to be with my family and friends every chance I get.
