A Few Words From The Director of Personnel
Anyone who has anything to do with schools feels the excitement when a new school year begins. As the students pour off the buses and enter the school to meet new teachers and greet old friends, their smiles sparkle more brightly than the shiny floors. With all the excitement the students are often unaware how much work it takes to get the schools up and running for opening day. The team of maintenance workers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, clerical staff, parapros, teachers, administrators and support personnel guarantee door to door pick up and delivery service, hot meals on the table and cool air in the classrooms. The teachers take particular pride in making their classrooms special. The safe, caring and comfortable environment conducive to learning sets the stage for high-powered quality instruction.
The new school year is filled with promise and possibilities but also new challenges. With soaring gas and food prices and an increase in unemployment many of our Walker County families are struggling to make ends meet. In these difficult times our schools will continue to offer the highest quality service oriented education at every level--- everyday.
The Walker County School System recently had a successful New Teacher Orientation and welcomes our new staff and faculty members. We know that the quality and commitment of our employees makes all the difference in achieving success with our continuous school improvement efforts.
As Director of Personnel Services I want to thank all of our employees for their service to the Walker County community. Have a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Craig Davoulas
Director of Personnel
