The Gilbert Student Council Bake Sale raised over $500 to purchase trees to plant on campus in celebration of Earth Day this year. Following the tragic events at Virginia Tech, the student council determined to dedicate a tree in memory of the victims. Corbet Neal cuts the ribbon officially dedicating the new tree to victims of violence. Student Council members and Gilbert staff who helped plant the tree are: Gilbert Assistant Principal and Student Council Advisor Brad Hays, Council Chairman Helena Yates, Chelsey Chambers, Brittany Zuber, Seacret Oliver, Head Custodian Russell Swaffod, Cheyenne Woodard, Hailey Jenkins, and Student Council Advisor Shannon Robertson.
