Early Dismissal

ATTENTION: Parents, Guardians, and Care-givers

This year our focus has been on the Intentional Wellness of every employee of Walker County Schools.  Everyone involved in the educational process of our students shows up each day and gives selflessly to assure the safety and security of each child placed in our care.  They also provide any needed support, encouragement, and counseling all wrapped in the State standards that are required to assure student achievement. We have been trying to do little things that support the well-being of every employee as they consistently provide HOPE for our students.  In an effort to show them how much we appreciate their tireless efforts, the members of the Walker County Board of Education and I would like to provide a small token of our appreciation to all Walker County Schools employees by allowing them to take the second half of the day off on Friday, December 20, 2019.

We will be dismissing school at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019.  We will dismiss all elementary, middle, and high school car riders, elementary bus riders, and all high school student drivers beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Buses will then proceed to their middle or high school destination for pick up of remaining students and run a combined route. Breakfast and lunch will be served as normal.

Thank you for your cooperation and support; we hope this will give everyone sufficient time to plan ahead for this change in schedule.  We would also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
